How to Install AMCO Mod for Minecraft 1.8.1
1) Backup Everything!
Type %appdata% at the top of any explorer window to find the .minecraft folder.
Backup the entire folder by renaming it ‘minecraft_old’ (note the lack of ‘.’ at front).
2) AMCO requires a fresh copy of the game!
There are over 70 mods in AMCO, so it is likely to conflict with anything but a fresh install of Minecraft.
Log on to minecraft.net: http://www.minecraft.net/login.jsp
‘Run in Browser’ and explore a new world until all the sound files get loaded.
Save the resulting minecraft.jar file.
That allows updating AMCO even if the base game changes, and starting at step 3 next time.
3) After getting a vanilla copy of minecraft (Beta 1.8.1)…
Download AMCO 1_8_1 Rev 2
Place the “MinecraftFolder” files into the .minecraft folder.
Place the “MinecraftJar” files into the minecraft.jar file (found in the ‘bin’ folder).
4) Optional: Not reccomended for slow computers.
Place the “HD fix” files into the minecraft.jar file
Select the “AMCO in HD” texture pack.
5) Optional: Don’t like one of the mods? Disable it.
Go to .minecraft/config/ModLoader.cfg
Change “mod_=on” to “mod_=off”
6) Required: Enjoy a whole new aspect of Minecraft!
Hint: ‘Recipie Book’ is very usefull. It shows how to make everything. You should start the game with one. If not, build it by cominnig a book with black ink.
Recovery: (In case something goes horribly wrong)
1) Delete everything from the new .minecraft folder. Don’t delete the folder itself, just the contents.
2) Copy everything from the minecraft_old folder back into the .minecraft folder.
